School Tournaments

We have come to the end of another exciting year of school football tournaments.

First up were the girls and Dunkeld proved too strong for everyone as they won the shield for the first time.

In the P6/P7 boys section we needed sudden death penalty kicks to separate Breadalbane and Kenmore. Kenmore's nerve held firm for them to retain their trophy.

In the P4/P5 final Breadalbane edged out Pitlochry in a tense final to record Breadalbane's first win in any competition.

Importantly a few new players were identified fromt the competitions and they will hopefully be playing in some of the Breadalbane/Strathtay teams next season.

The Breadalbane Strathtay Annual School Football Tournaments for Primarys Schools start this Saturday with the girls taking centre stage.

Teams from all over the Highland Perthshire Area will be taking part over 4 Saturday's in May:

Sat 9th May: P4-P7 Girls (Last years winners Pitlochry)
Sat16th May P6/P7 Boys (Last years winners Kenmore)
Sat 23rd May P4/P5 Boys (Last Years Winners Kenmore)
Sat 30th May P1-P3 Mixed

U12s playing at Breadalbane Pitch

Good to see most of you at the Academy training last night. You put in a an excellent shift, the standard is defintely improving!!

Forgot to ask you all did you enjoy playing on Breadalbane's pitch on Sunday against Coupar Angus? Do you prefer to play here or at Kenmore? Let me know your opinions.

Coach Education

Well done to all the Breadalbane Community FC coaches who have enrolled on the forthcoming SFA coaching courses. This will be of great benefit to you all as coaches but even more importantly will benefit the kids!!

You have all signed up to 30 different courses in total which is fantastic! Could be a few of you in for the Chelsea job before long!!

Big thanks to the HPST who fund all our coach education.

U17s

What a shame we have had to fold the U17 team, unfortunately we just didn't get enough players at training and at matches. It leaves the 8 or 9 boys who turned up each week pretty frustrated. Hopefully they can get into either Breadalbane or Breadalbane Kenmore for the rest of the season.

Next season we are hoping to form another Amateur team to play in the Perthshire League - Breadalbane Strathtay Amateurs. We hope to make this team up mostly of younger players with a few "experienced" faces along beside them. The hope is that this will keep young players in the game and allow them to play every week.

What are you thoughts on this? Can we make it work? Do we have enough players to have three adult teams?

Callum Dickson

Congratulations to Callum Dickson in signing for Jeanfield Swifts U15s in Perth. Callum will play in the Fife League which should be a really good test and hopefully the competition will improve him as a player.

Weather Frustrations!!

The poor weather has left us all frustrated with being unable to use the astro facility. With mid term coming up this week, we are now going to start the Programme on Monday 23rd of February and extend it until the end of June.

I will let the Secondary pupils know asap which fitness classes they shopuld attend after school.

Girls Football - More Teams?

The standard of girls football in Highland Perthshire has improved dramatically over the last year. Do you think we should start another U13 team after Christmas to allow more players to play in league matches? Are there enough S2 and S3 girls wanting to play to form an U15 team after Christmas? Let me know your thoughts.
